Animal Blood Resources International is an all species blood bank. We partner with the rescue community to provide a working solution for unwanted adult cats and dogs. After a year of service providing lifesaving blood components, every animal is available for adoption into permanent homes. Animals are in great health and behavior tested. If you are looking for a loyal pet companion, give Animal Blood Resources a call today at (517) 851-8244.

Can’t have a pet of your own? Become a member of our volunteer team who groom cuddle, walk and play with our in-house donors. All volunteers are required to attend a one-hour training session, which are conducted quarterly. Youth volunteers (ages 10-17) must be accompanied by a parent.

Please call Diane Carpenter at (517) 851-8244 for an appointment to meet our retired blood donors.

Adoption Success Stories

Meet Betty, a beagle blood donor at ABRI. She donated units of blood to save other dogs in dire need. After her year of service, she was place in our adoption program. Barbara and Ellen, her new parents, saw her picture, and decided their beagle, William, needed a friend. During the introduction, the two got along swimmingly. Betty’s enjoying her new home and friends.

Caroline was stray before coming a feline donor at ABRI. She found her forever home with one of our carestaff, Jacob. Jacob says she's adapted well to her new home and loves to ride on his shoulders.

Rusty found his forever home! Congratulations to the lucky family and to Rusty!

Retired donors TJ and Gracie were best buds. A few months ago Gracie crossed the Rainbow bridge at the ripe old age of 16. TJ has been extremely lonely without her. Along comes Becky.  Recently retired herself and looking for a new best friend. TJ is happy again and very enamoured his new lady. Both saved the lives of many other pets and are now happily spending their retirement soaking up country living.

Galaxy, a retired blood donor, has settled nicely into her forever home. Her new owners says she loves to sit in her pool on warm days. "She's a great addition to our family, and we're happy to have her," they said.
